Open chimney:
I was commissioned to produce a fire surround where an existing flu system and fire-place base were situated. The concept was to create a design that would detract from the basic traditional design that currently existed. My idea was to implement a triangular shape cover, again to overcome traditional horizontal and vertical patterns. On top of the cover, I would place copper plates, 5 cm proud from the base cover that would prevent heating. These plates were dipped in acid and gave a powerful antique design. In the alcove surrounding the triangular front and around the base of the fire stone work, I would place Turquoise coloured tiles that would not only compliment the brown, copper and black colours of the fire surround, but would also create a uniformed background to the design.

Cage for Veterenary:
I was commissioned by a Vetinary practise to develop a cage for their recovering animals, that needed to meet special needs and requirements.
Part of the special requirements was to develop a floor that was not only removable for cleaning and hygiene purposes, but also protruded two inches from the front, to act as a drip tray for spilt liquids. In addition, the door system was created to enable easy use with one hand, so that the other was free at all times to handle the animals.
